About Raicodoll

Sam Gaitan is a Texas based artist, organizer, and online personality whose interest mainly lies in giving a slightly darker toned twist to nature, oddities, horror, and making odd things beautiful and vice versa. She specializes in primarily ink/watercolor illustrations and acrylic semi-realistic paintings.

Her painting was first featured in Lubbock Magazine and has since been featured on the local First Friday Art Trail at such galleries as Tornado Gallery, Star Comics Downtown, Heart Journey Studio, 806 Collective in Studio C, and she is a CASP Studio artist in Studio F. In 2019 and 2021, she held immersive interactive horror solo exhibits, “Tulpa” and “Body Horror” that allowed audiences to interactive with installations and the paintings. In 2022, she organized and constructed a multi-room “selfie room” installation as a collaboration between 6 different artists.

She has founded and helped organize many local events. Her first event, Star Comics presents Ladies Night, ran three times a year since April 2015 along with themed artist collective galleries that were held monthly at Star Comics Downtown. She helped found the Lubbock chapter of Geek Girl Brunch and now helps run the Oddities Art Market, a twice a year outdoor art market that features the less typical style of local artists and creators as well as small themed pop-ups at Tumbleweed + Sage Coffeehouse.

In December 2021, she started The Little Crow’s Market, a creative art vending machine that dispenses products made by local creators as well as novelty items.

Sam is based in Lubbock, Texas with her two dogs and two cats, plants, and collection of weird things.
