Remember how I said I was going to do a Unique Vintage video? But now you’re staring at a blog.
That’s because I was editing it and ended up getting mad and hating it. Art problems. So now it’s a blog! Mostly because I didn’t want to throw away all my hard work and I really do wanna show off these pieces.
Whatever works!
Two of these pieces I actually purchased last year and the rest are all new for this year. Only one of them is not currently available, but is available in other styles.
Also, obviously this is not a sponsored posts. I wish.
First up, the older pieces!
This dress is what made me press the Buy button on Unique Vintage last year. It’s so pretty and I couldn’t resist the little pumpkin pattern. It’s been my favorite dress this past year and always gets a ton of compliments.
Give me anything black with cute pumpkins on it and I’m sold.
Another thing I love is that the fabric isn’t flimsy at all, but a good thick material with a lot of stretch to it. I’m always worried because my body shape is weird. I can wear small-medium but the boobs mean usually I’m buying a large.
I got a medium in this one and it fits like a dream. There’s these little raised lines I think the website calls pin-tucks on the upper chest/shoulders that look really nice and the fit-and-flare style is fun and swirls around. It hits me at about my knees which is great because I hate when dresses feel too long or too short.
It does come with a thin belt but I’ve only worn it a few times cause I have an aversion to belts apparently.
Here’s the description from the site: “Goosebumps in a bounty, gals! Stand out in the pumpkin patch with this well-rounded vintage inspired dress from Unique Vintage. A retro-ravishing fit and flare frock that comes in a classic black, stippled in twee orange jack-o’-lantern print that will chill spines. Best of all, the sturdy stretch fabric blend and princess seams are both comfortable and flattering, offset with symmetrical pin tucks for a streamlined and deliciously detailed look. Cinched at the waist with a thin black removable belt, perfect for organic folly and city pretty!”
Overall, I love this dress. I could wear it all the time.
It does come available in Plus-Size and this year in a wiggle dress version. So you have options! But I will warn, Unique Vintage is not a cheap site. If you’re not use to paying over $50 for dresses, it definitely makes you pause. They do have a payment plan system, but I will say for the price you are getting good quality clothes and….unique pieces.
Get it. They’re called Unique Vintage. Moving on.

Hell Bunny 1950s Style Black Bats High Waist Swing Skirt
This was the second piece I bought last year and the one that is no longer available. I’m pretty sure I know why, but I’ll do my breakdown first.
I do really like this skirt, but I haven’t worn it as often as I could have. Unlike the Pumpkin dress, there is no stretch to the waistband so make sure you check your measurements! Another things is that it is long on me. Like it hits my calves which, as a short person, isn’t super ideal for a swing skirt. I’d prefer it hit my knees.
The material isn’t too thick and is a bit prone to wrinkling, but….this shit has pockets.
Yeah, I’m a sucker for pockets.
They’re a pretty good size and the bat detailing is sewed to the edge of it so they’re clearly marked.
Now why I think this version isn’t back. The bat is cute but could be better (they actually did do a better version this year). Because of the design and placement, the top of the bat is sewed to the edge of the pocket but the bottom is not sewed down at all. That means it flaps up a lot and gets crinkled up and then you can’t tell it’s a bat.
I would have lowered the bat and just sewed it down entirely a bit lower on the pocket. Also because it’s so high up, you can’t see it very clearly. So there’s a design flaw.
I usually pair it with a fitted striped shirt I have but since I’m doing this post, I put one of the new pieces I got this year with it.
So because this specific design is not available, I don’t have the specs or description from the site but they do still have two other Hell Bunny Swing Skirts in two different designs. I love them both and they seemed to have learned a bit from their mistakes with this skirt. If you like either of these, check them out! There are clickthrough links on each picture!
I don’t hate this skirt, I still think it’s really cute and I may just sew down the bat myself. When you spin, it’s so fun as it flares out and the little white trim near the bottom is a nice little touch.
But definitely check sizes and heights and make sure you get one that fits!
This is where we start talking about the new stuff.
Now they had this shirt available last year and I wanted it. I actually originally came across it through the artists/vendors Etsy shop first and I guess they sell through Unique Vintage as well.
This year I finally purchased it. I’m about 50/50 on it. I absolutely love the art and the image is screen printed onto the fabric rather than it being an iron on or vinyl. That’s wonderful, make sure you take care of that in the wash. The fabric is a nice cream color rather than pure white and isn’t super see-through.
Here’s part of the description from the Etsy listing: “The original queens of Halloween: the Bride of Frankenstein, Lily Munster, Elvira, and Morticia Addams. Join the Ghoul Gang. Designed by Kwanalee.”
And Unique Vintage’s: “Exude the charm of classic vamps and temptresses with this soft ivory short sleeve cotton tee from Culture Flock. A black screen print of the original seductresses with black font that reads, “Ghoul Gang”. The relaxed fit and sturdy structuring makes these femme fatales a perfect pick for your wardrobe. We know you’re beautiful, dear. No matter how many people run away screaming!
Please note these sizes are unisex and run large. For a more fitted wear, we recommend you order a size down.”
Downsides, this thing is long as fuck. Like hits my fingertips like a dress long. There is a reason why every photo I see of this it’s always tucked in. And the sleeves are slightly too long, but that is probably because it’s a Unisex tee. Overall, it kinda fits me like a large which it says in the description of the product to size down but I just didn’t expect it to be that loose and I’m always iffy about sizing down.
It’s still very nice and I may just hem the sleeves up for myself. Is it cute? Yes. Does it need to be tucked in? Very yes.
But who can resist these ladies?
The link to the Unique Vintage listing is in the title.
I love these earrings. Did I almost accidentally rip them out my ear while fixing my hair? Yes. But my ears are fine and I still love them.
The only thing I’m confused about is the description.
“Lure admirers in, dolls! An enthralling pair of black bats, crafted in a lightweight leatherette, these two dearies flutter below dainty black chains from a classic surgical steel hook back. Give ‘em a nip!”
There is nothing leathery about these. The material almost feels and looks like acrylic resin. They are lightweight, but they’re shiny and don’t quite look like the picture???
Like that texture is not on the earrings. They’re smooth and shiny. That’s a little odd but that may just be me. Still, I love them very much and will be wearing them all year. K, thanks.
Link in the title.
Alright, we’re getting to the big pieces.
I call this my “Wednesday Addams All Grown Up” dress.
Now I do not usually buy wiggle dresses. I’m pretty insecure about my body shape and anything super form fitting gives me anxiety. But! That top pattern is to die for so I sucked it up and bought it.
The material is very stretchy but still thick and man oh man, the top sheer fabric is sooooo soft. The little velvet shapes are adorable and if you have any chain collar enamel pins, this dress would be a perfect pairing. I’m a big fan of half-sleeves. This whole dress is *chef’s kiss* beautiful!
It is a little tight but not too much that I can’t walk. The stretch helps with that. The back is a zipper then has a gap where the collar buttons up so there’s a bit of an opening that’s very cute.
Here’s the descript: “A confection this captivating should be a crime, gals! Bewitching incarnate, the retro Wednesday Dress from Collectif is a ravishing black piece ready for nightly enchantment. This 1960s style cocktail dress features a sheer mesh top with black magic motifs of cats, bats, crows, and pumpkins, set in velvet and dancing through the half-sleeve and high collar style for a flattering silhouette. The high pointed collar is secured with a back button loop that tops a gorgeous keyhole open back. The strapless fitted form clutches your curves with paneled seaming, a back zipper, and back vent for a perfect pinup look. It's a guarantee you'll be spell casting!”
With the sizing, I’d say it’s true to fit but! Check your sizing chart because all the sizes are in UK Sizes?? So make sure you get the right one. Like pretty much everything on Unique Vintage, there are plus sizes available.
Do I regret this buy? Not at all. It’ll take getting use to wearing a fitted dress since I go for flare and swing dresses so often, but it’s definitely an eye catching piece.
Now these dresses are the pricier ones, just a heads up there. But I think they’re worth the price.
As always, link is in the title.
Remember how I said the Pumpkin dress was my favorite dress?
That was before this dress.
But Sam, you say, it’s not black! Yeah, it’s not, but it makes me feel like a goth princess anyways.
I love this dress. I could die in this dress. It’s a dusty blue with this gorgeous spooky pattern and the neck cut and the sleeves. Kill me now.
Also, this shit has pockets too! And when you twirl, the whole thing dances around you.
I could write poetry about this dress.
The fabric is study and thick but unlike the others, does not stretch so be sure to get the right size. Especially the waist. But it hugs you like a warm blanket. I love the sweetheart neckline and there are little cloth buttons down the front.
Guys, this fucking dress.
The description: “Too cute to scare, gals! A spine-tingling delight for an evening of fright, this fabulous cotton frock features a spooky print of Halloween thrills set against a dusty blue background. The romantic sweetheart neckline is framed by darling cap sleeves that flutter with your familiar. The darted bodice boasts faux buttons for a dash of vintage verve while the seamed waist tops a sweeping swing skirt, outfitted with side pockets for spell casting function. Complete with a back zipper to cinch in your witchy ways. Park your broom at the door!”
It does suggest pairing it with crinoline for added volume to the skirt but I think it’s good as is. You don’t get as much of a swing when you add that and you want that swing when you twirl.
This is such a beautiful crafted and designed dress. I’m so happy. I want to wear it all the time. I may. Who knows.
So yeah, it’s not black but is it spooky? Yes. Is it gorgeous and make me feel like I look nice? Yes. And I think that’s worth the price.
Link up aboveeee.
And that’s it for everything!
Unique Vintage is a great shop if you want to spend a little extra on good quality interesting pieces. That have so much stuff I love and if I managed to get some extra cash this season, I might have to buy a few more dresses because they’re to die for.
I don’t have a ton of money and I don’t buy a ton of clothes but I like investing a little in clothes that are going to make me happy and make me feel good. That’s the important part. I want to wear something that is going to make me like my body a bit more. Invest in clothes you love and wear them to death.
Check out all the links, look at the rest of what they have, and I am available for gift cards….
Kidding, but not kidding.
We’ll be back to spooky decor in the next one!
